  • Scott's New Hip

Scott had is left hip replaced last Friday. They had him up and "walking" on Saturday. Monday they had him do some stairs. He got out of the hospital on Tuesday and we moved into the Downtown Ramada Inn. Scott was worried about getting in and out of the car but that went very well. Since then we have walked the halls several times a day and Scott has exercises he does. He says the joint pain is gone but there is plenty of muscle pain.

He gets the staples out on Monday and then we should be headed home.

  • Quilting Bug

I've been bitten by the quilting bug. I have now three completed. One that needs to be quilted or as my Mom would say "all done but finishing". I have one that is in progress. This one is taking a little longer but that okay it has a lot more pieces.

This is the quilt that I made for Scott. He loves it.Scott's Quilt

This one is a birthday/Mother's Day present for my Mom.(Rachel don't let her see)

I messed up when I cut the backing material but I like the way it turned out better this way.

Scott went to the VA doctor last week and he now a surgery scheduled for May 1 to get his left hip replaced. We will be making lots of trips to Anchorage before that's because he has to get all the dental work done first and he'll have to do some pre-op stuff like give blood so they can give it back to him during surgery. I would assume that he’ll have to get new x-rays too.

We will have to stay in Anchorage for 2 weeks after his surgery. So I’ll be taking my sewing machine so I can quilt while just hanging around waiting for him to heal.

    Moose Camping

    Scott & Jenni

I got to go into moose camp with Scott for 2 days. It was really fun. We saw a cow and calf the first night we were there. Scott found a black bear on the mountain side across the river to look at through the spotting scope. The next morning the cow and calf were back out for a while but the wind picked up and we didn't see them again. We dug the new latrine and moved the old seat over to it. I'm sure the guys will really appreciate all our hard work.

Scott brought me back to town Saturday. It was so beautiful up there that I really hated to come home.

  • Don't Faint!

    I know it's been a long time since I posted...I'm sorry.

Scott and I are headed for Indiana tonight and we'll be back July 5th. Scott is going to spend some time with his mom and I'm going on my "sisters" trip. My sisters, Mom and I have taken a trip the summer before my sisters each turned 50, so this year it is my turn. We are all fall babies but my sisters both teach school so we have to travel in the summer. We are planning on going to Michigan. My cousin is going to be home from Japan and I haven't seen her in years so we will go see her. We will also be going to a neat art fair and spend some time at a beach on lake Michigan. The best thing is just spending time with each other...just the four of us.

I'll let you all know how it went when we get back.

  • Merry Christmas Everyone

We had a kids program last Sunday night at church and gave all the kids there presents. I think we had 54 people there. Praise the Lord! There were lots parents there that don't normally come. I hear that some of them will be back this Sunday night.

We sure have had a bunch of snow this week. Christmas Program 036sm

I took this picture Wednesday morning of our back porch.

I hear there is a blizzard warning until five tomorrow morning. Hope the pass isn't too bad by the afternoon as Becky and Brian are in Anchorage today and driving home tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a happy healthy new year.
